locations. Similarly, BOWDI has established a relationship from previous work in Yobe and looks forward to extending to Gujba, Geidam, and Monguno within the scope of the project target areas. BOWDI from its experience with UNHCR has vast competence in managing UNHCR projects in compliance with UNHCR strategies, principles guiding respective donor agencies, partnership policies, and code of conduct by ensuring credibility, integrity, and accountability. In the same vein, BOWDI has gained technical expertise through capacity strengthening and direct mentorship from UNHCR on Protection, GBV, Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, IASC standards, Code of conduct as well as other key areas relevant to include community-based and community-owned models to problem-solving which is a great advantage for the proposed program.

BOWDI also supported households in Konduga and Nganzai with food security and income of vulnerable households that improved through unconditional food assistance in 2020 and 2021 where about 130,000 beneficiaries covered.

While on the nutrition project where over 30,000 pregnant and lactating mothers and children were supported with nutrition supplement and as a result of this action: Mothers acquire the skills and confidence to select food mixtures and prepare improved child and family feeding recipes using locally available and affordable foods, a system for peer learning was established through the promotion of nutritionally-sound indigenous knowledge and skills and the number of malnourished children before the starting of this program has drastically reduced. There has also been significant improvement in the method of preparing the supplement, and this is due to the facts that the CNMS have been engaging them in the food demonstration. From 2020-2021 BOWDI also supported about 60,000 Cash Based Transfer (CBT) beneficiaries in Gubio camp, Dalori 1 and Daiori 2 IDP camp.

A project that intended to promote and protect women's rights through enhancement of their leadership and use of gender-responsive approaches as a way to prevent violent extremism and promote peace-building initiatives through interventions focused on UNSCR 1325 implementation in two states, Borno and Yobe. Close the gender gap in promoting sustainable peace through greater participation of women in efforts to prevent and counter VE and peacebuilding in the Northeast.

The project also helped in reinstating community resilience and creating awareness around violent extremism and the role of women in developing peaceful sustainable communities by implementing activities that strengthen community support networks and cooperation to increase the protection, dignity, and safety of Women and Girls affected by conflicts.

The project did not intend to capture girls that were part of our previous non-formal learning centers as the proposed locations of interventions differ from where those centers existed. We however intend to enroll and encourage different sets of already in-school and dropouts, with consideration to girls with an interest in education.

The project aims to promote a change in perception in communities about girl-child education and improve access to quality education to adolescent girls, thereby ensuring sustainability.
